Wairarapa Map Blog

Situated in the south-eastern corner of the North Island, the Wairarapa region is well known for its wineries and vineyards, particularly those around the picturesque town of Martinborough.

The region has an off-the-beaten-track charm and offers a wide range of experiences beyond wineries.

Here are some of our suggestions to include in a visit to this region:

Something to Eat… Karahui Wine Bar & Eatery

The newest addition to the food scene in Martinborough, Karahui is located in a restored historic bank and offers a vibrant and light setting to enjoy contemporary food and beverages. Share plates of delicious food paired with amazing wines from local and international brands while admiring local artwork.

Something to Drink… Martinborough Brewery

For those who are looking for something other than wine, head to the Martinborough Brewery and their tasting room to sample some locally made handcrafted beers. Using natural ingredients, the beers are created by those passionate about the region, only producing micro batches for guests to enjoy something a little different.
